Service Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the service operations department of the Motion unit in Portugal. You will be mainly accountable for: • Reporting HSE incidents to the management and relevant stakeholders and taking appropriate actions. • Facilitating, assisting, and providing guidance on incident investigations to learn better ways for mitigating risks. • Providing feedback to the management and employees on lessons learned and best practices from within their own unit and across ABB. • HSE Plan/Risk Assessment - Preparation, communication & coordinating work. • Appropriated HSE - related equipment, PPE´s and tool management, support on HSE to Site Lead Manager. • Supporting and driving behavioral change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific performance improvement programs and practices.

Qualifications for the role
  • You are highly skilled to conduct safety audits, implementation of HSE Projects/Risk assessment and site inspections for compliance and experience in the electrical industry, particularly in pulp & paper, cement, mining, petrochemical, food & beverage, utilities, etc.
  • You have 3-5 years of experience to work as an HSE Specialist.
  • You are qualified with Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) 6.
  • You are passionate about ensuring that safety measures and electrical safety systems are in place and up to code.
  • Degree in bachelors degree in engineering (electrical or mechanical) or Environmental Science.
  • You are at ease communicating in Portuguese and English.
  • You hold current drivers license type B (car) valid in Portugal and Portuguese work permit.
  • Willing to travel throughout Portugal.
  • Good skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
